How often should I get a massage?
A regular routine of once a week or once a month is common for people who use massage as therapy to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, others may choose to have less frequent appointments for an occasional relaxing session. You are welcome to schedule a standing appointment.
Are there times when getting a massage is not advisable?
Yes. People dealing with medical conditions (e.g. stroke, cancer, or surgery) should not have a massage without a doctor's approval. There are some conditions that may be made worse with massage. It might also be possible to find a massage therapist who specializes in working with your condition.
Why do I need water?
Plain water is needed after a session to rehydrate your body.
Do I have to undress completely for a massage?
No. Massage Therapy@Home requires that you must be covered during massage. Your body will be concealed, no matter how little or how much you choose to disrobe.
Do I have to have massage music?
No. You are welcome to have whatever sounds you like. We will offer Pandora stations if you do not have your own.
Should I take a shower before or after a massage?
It is up to you.
Can I work out after a massage?
Yes. The only things you should not do after a massage is drink alcohol, have tobacco products, or caffeine. Please allow 4 hours for your body to filter out the waste from the massage before adding more toxins to your system.
Can I book an appointment online?
Not at this time.
What type of payment do you take?
We accept cash, checks, credit cards, Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal. (NSF checks will be charged an additional $35)
Do I need to move furniture?
Having a space available (about the size of a large dinning room table) will be fine. If anything needs to be moved we will let you know once we arrive.
Are you willing to use my lotion?
No. We will provide professional grade massage oil. We do not provide essential oils. However, if you would like an aromatherapy session, we will mix your own oils with our carrier lotion.
Are you OK with animals/children/other people in the house?
Yes. Be aware that the clock starts when we begin the massage. If you need to stop your session to take care of something/someone, the time will NOT be added on. (You may purchase extra time IF it is available.)
Do you do anything “extra/other than massage”?
Absolutely not!!! Any inappropriate behavior or remarks will result in the immediate end of the massage; it can and WILL be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Do you have gift certificates?
Yes. We carry One Hour Gift Certificates with us.
